Trinseo Announces EUR 310 per Tonne Polystyrene Price Increase in Europe

Leave a message

Global materials producer Trinseo has announced significant price increases for polystyrene (PS), ABS and SAN products in Europe.

According to the company's official announcement on October 2, the adjustments became effective October 1, 2026, or as permitted under existing contracts.

Trinseo increased prices for its STYRON™ polystyrene resins by EUR 310 per metric ton.

Meanwhile, MAGNUM™ ABS resin prices increased by EUR 210 per metric ton, while TYRIL™ SAN resin prices rose by EUR 230 per metric ton.

The announcement comes amid substantial changes in European styrene and other petrochemical feedstock costs.

Styrene is the principal raw material used in polystyrene production, making its price an important factor in determining PS production economics.

Polystyrene is widely used in packaging, household appliances, consumer goods and industrial applications.

The announced price increases highlight the influence of upstream raw material costs on European polymer pricing strategies.

For international polystyrene buyers and manufacturers, changes in producer pricing and feedstock costs remain important considerations in procurement planning.
