China Faces Higher Typhoon and Flood Risks in July

Leave a message

China may face a more active typhoon season in July, with the National Climate Center forecasting up to six typhoons during the month and as many as three possible landfalls.

Recent storms have already caused flooding in southern China, especially in Guangxi, where heavy rain damaged infrastructure and forced large-scale evacuations.

For the energy and chemical sectors, more frequent typhoons may increase risks for ports, road transport, industrial parks and storage facilities. Heavy rainfall may also affect drainage systems, wastewater treatment and plant operations.

Companies should strengthen typhoon-season monitoring and prepare for possible logistics delays and temporary production disruptions.
